Folder icons appear blank, help please

After installing and removing a couple of folder icon editors, my folders icons in browse are all messed up. They look like blank white squares. How can I fix things back to normal? In the 2nd screen is the top-left most icon supposed to look like that? Thanks for the assistance.

    Hello Nabilalk,

You might see if doing OPTION TWO in the tutorial below may help.

Folder Icon - Change Windows 7 Default Folder Icon

Plus, downloading and merging the folder .reg file in this tutorial.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks for the links Brink. I don't have a Shell Icons entry in the registry. I have Shell Folders ShellExecuteHooks, ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers, and ShellServiceObjects

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons

    Is that normal?

    Nabilalk,

That's ok. OPTION TWO in that link was only if OPTION ONE had been done to change the default Folder icon.

Go ahead and download and merge the folder .reg file in that other tutorial link to see if it can restore it for you after a restart.
