Greg I'm having the same problem you are.

I can't follow what has been done and when if at all.
I'm lost at finding the results in some cases.

I'm concerned that their is a overheating problem.
Which in my opinion should be addressed first.

**Does anybody know what video card driver is being used now and where did it come from?

**Does anybody know if the old video card drivers were removed?

Ok, great stuff. What's the one MS item in Startup?

    Everything else looks good.

I'm going to take some time to look deeper into what AdwCleaner took care of.

While I do that, run this other utility and then restart

Restart your machine in case there are any system operations pending

Click here to download Old Timer-TFC.
    >> save the application to your Desktop.
Old Timer-TFC is a standalone application, there is no install.

Save your work and close all open windows.
TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!

Right click, run as administrator TFC

Click the Start button to begin the cleaning up temporary files and folders.
Do not work on other things while TFC is running - most applications use some sort of temporary files. Just let TFC run by itself on the machine until it completes.

If TFC prompts you to reboot, do so immediately.
If TFC does NOT prompt you, then reboot your machine immediately after TFC has completed.

It's 1:30 AM here and I was just about to hit the sack - I'll pick up with the new GIGABYTE driver tomorrow (later this morning).

Now that I know I pointed you to the correct driver and that you have it downloaded, I'll build the step-by-step instructions from the tutorial.

I'm wondering if you answered yes to remove software for the graphics card.

If not it will get reinstalled by Windows Device scan or when you restart.
What I'd like to see, before you install the river is a device manger showing the card at MS base driver levels.

Ok, I'm off to malware information services to check the AdwCleaner find and destroyed.
    Then g'nite

    Bill
    .
The one MS item open is the Microsoft Security Item. Should I uncheck it?

I'm headed to work, so I'll run TFC later and provide you the results.

As for the other questions, yes I did remove the softwares that accompanied the graphics driver (HD audio driver and Geforce experience) and deleted the folders. But how do I "show the card at MS base driver levels"?

Excuse me, but can you please show me exactly where you confirmed running Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) as I cannot find it in the thread, only you asking me how this is done after I'd posted the link twice.
Comment #42 and #44. I said that there were no Windows Updates queued for install. Further down the thread. Just yesterday I also said that there were no updates, only language packages.

I notice that in reporting back results of each Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 you confirmed you had established a Clean Boot according to Step 7 but then the screenshots posted later showed this had not been done.
Yes, I said I established a clean boot before, but because it was still crashing, I reset some of the programs I thought were important. I did established a clean boot again yesterday and my computer is now running without any non MS items.

There are also other steps without response. In similar cases the skipped step is almost always the fix. In cases where there is close cooperation these issues are always (as in 100%) solved in thousands of cases I've helped with here.

You are making a real effort to cooperate but some things are being skipped, overlooked or misinterpreted.

What about the Repair Install which is Step 19 and seems indicated here once Bill's more in-depth hardware and infection testing are complete?
I've been trying to run Step 19, but my webpage keeps defacing/crashing, so it's taking a longer time. What other steps have I skipped over?

Also, since my browser (internet explorer) in fresh install of Windows 8 also crashes, would that not mean a hardware issue?

I'm using RAM B, the RAM that passed all tests on all 4 DDR slots without errors.

The temps start at around 26-34 C the first 10 minutes of computer starting, then goes to 34-41 C after that with only Chrome opened.

Ok, the Malware Service Center tells me the files AdwCleaner found and removed were, for lack of a better word, crapware.
YouTube helpers, Shopper browser hijack, other unnecessary things that AdwCleaner know more about than I care to research.
AdwCleaner does a good job fixing all of the things related to malware too, so I think you're ok in regards to malware. Let's continue with the things Greg, Jack and I were requesting you to do solve the issue.

As all of us have pointed out, it's important to follow the instructions you are given, in a proper sequence.
In this case, proper is subjective, perhaps linear is a better choice of words.

It is of utmost importance for a 'quick' resolution, if one can be found, that you provide members the feedback they need to get to the next step. Greg dug deeper than I did on the trouble shooting response and found some holes. This might be a failure to post the correct log (as in the case of AdwCleaner) or simply a misunderstanding of our need to know.

Jack (LaidBackBear) makes a good point: Don't worry about updating Post#1 - just post the response or log when it's requested. That will keep everything in sequence and will be easier for us to follow or request additional information on a particular step in troubleshooting.

    Thanks.

As it often happens, we're banging up against each other giving you instructions.
Greg wants you to revisit the troubleshooting tutorial which is a great idea ... except I want you to move forward with the Driver.
The two paths conflict in that the troubleshooting tells you to turn ON automatic Windows Update (WU) and Driver installation, while the NVidia instructions tell you to temporarily disable automatic updates.

It's a struggle for both sides. You ask "Which set of instructions should I follow"
Greg has a firm policy of enabling auto device installation
I use the tools available when they are needed (automatic WU and device installation ON or OFF depends on the situation)
In this case, the automatic updating gets in the way of getting a good base driver installed. You uninstall the driver as requested and WHAM, auto updates puts one back.

So, what direction should you take? You're sort of in the middle of two paths (troubleshooting tut and driver repair).
Jack has requested some other information, and I would like to see what Device Manager says about your graphics card.

    Here's what I suggest:

Complete the troubleshooting tutorial with Greg's help. This might only be posting some logs that were not posted or providing feedback that was not provided. As I said, Greg dug deeper than I did, so he knows what he's looking for.

Give Jack the information he requested, it will help all of us on this side of your monitor. The temps I saw early on in the thread didn't look too bad, high, yes - but you have some high end tech in that box and an Intel processor (runs hotter than AMD and depending on the CPU it might run much higher) 72c-96c might be normal, but let's see where the temps currently are

Post a DevMgr screen shot showing the graphics card, both the general and the driver tab
As I mentioned, I'd like to drop it all the way down to base VGA - it will be ugly, but it will make a better clean install of any new driver.

Here's something you can do anytime before installing the new driver, but to be certain, it's better to run through this just before doing a clean install of the driver. That way any automatic update or instructions from another member don't get between the cleanup and install.

This is an older tutorial, so it might be out-of-date re: tool names or download locations - the process is sound though.
Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
Display Driver Uninstaller is a bit easier

    Thanks for hanging in there.

If you will only click on Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) you will see that it has nothing to do with observing which drivers are queued for install. It is the precursor step to be sure that Windows Update will release all drivers for your OS.

Perhaps you are unaware that the blue links are illustrated tutorials? They perhaps should have an underline as our old friend Ted would often remind.

Did you try the other browsers as a comparison in WIndows 8 too?

I look at the TJ Max field in CoreTemp to compare the temps under stress. It doesn't look too bad to me. Put them in your System Tray using the Core Temp Options to Display at Startup. Do they ever go to Red?

Can you print out the Repair Install tutorial on another PC so you can work from that? What installation media do you have for WIn7. Fresh media is available in the Reinstall tutorial.

Oh, I just loaded the webpage again using my work computer and I now see the screenshots. Every single time I open that link, I don't see any images at all. I'll see if my settings are the same when I get home.

I actually only tried Internet Explorer since I was having a lot of trouble navigating around Windows 8. I'll boot it up again later and try something else like Google Chrome.

I'll do the rest when I get home.

Here's something that I'd like to try if everyone approves: I'd like to remove the SSD (with windows 7) out of my desktop and load it onto my work laptop. Once that's done, if it crashes, then it's probably a software issue. If it doesn't crash, we know it's a hardware issue. Is that a good idea?

Along with that, I will also have a disk drive to try whatever steps I've been missing (such as a disk drive check).

I'm not doing anything until told so.

Yes, sure enough there is the display adapter. But it's for Intel. Do you have Intel display on there, perhaps Dual? Can we see screenshot of Device Manager with Dusplay adapters expanded?

Go ahead and install it and the other one.

You'd need to adjust Win7 to boot on different hardware. Make Windows 7 bootable after motherboard swap

Yes my motherboard has it's own display adapter.

Hmm.. would it be the problem that I had installed this Windows 7 using a laptop?
