My Documents location STUCK

Just put Windows 7 Pro on my laptop, though I ran the beta months ago.

Anyway, in hopes to have all my docs, music, pics, etc on a separate partition (E:\) I started changing their locations under Properties>Location like usual. The first one i did was My Documents in the C:\Users\username folder and in the box I put E:\ not realizing it did not make the folder. Now in C:\Users\username instead of a My Documents folder I have drive E:\ icon there. So I assumed i could just change it back under location (Restore Default), but I get an error every time I try this.

"Failed to build the list of regular subfolders under "E:\System Volume Information" Access is Denied."

I moved the rest of the folders successfully, though this whole process seems too complicated. All I want are my personal files on a separate partition.

Any help?

Executing the .reg file for My Documents did the trick.

The Documents folder is back like it should be, but it is now hidden and it won't let me un-hide it??

I used "attrib -s -h C:\Users\etc..."

I just encountered the same problem as you russap5.
I was able to solve the first step but when I use the
attrib +r -h %USERPROFILE%\Documents command
I get "parameter format not correct" and of course, My Document is still hidden.

It would be very kind if Brink or somebody else could help me retrieve "My Document" and let me know how to have all my "data" (I mean documents, pictures, movies etc) on a separate partition or separate drive. I did it before on my XP professional but I feel like getting lost with 7 that I just got 3 days ago.
