Laptop Power Cord
My girlfriend has been bedridden due to an operation. I put my laptop on the bed so she can use it when I get up and put it in the case at night. I leave the power cord plugged into the wall all night but no PC plugged into it. There is a light on all the time on the rectangular thingy on the cord. Is it bad to leave the power cord plugged in all the time? Thanks,

Hi, it will also use your electricity, not as much as leaving TV in standby, personally I find it irritating at night to hear "mosquito" noise that phone/laptop charger makes when it is plugged in to the mains. If noise, money or worry about electric items catching fire at nigh are not on your mind than it's not bad.

Thanks for the relies. As far as the "mosquito" noise, I take my hearing aids out at night, no problem there. Money, well it is a well known fact here at "Seven Forums" that I am wealthy.

The only problem I have with leaving the power adapters plugged in is my wife complains about too much light at 5AM when she can't stay asleep so I just turn them over.

The lights on because it`s plugged into the wall. Unplug that thing when you`re not using it

Like a lot of problems, it took care of its self. My girlfriend is no longer bedridden so I can put the plug in the case now. Thanks for all of your replies.

Where to buy PC power cord in Korea Does anyone living in Korea know where I can buy Schuko to IEC-60320 cords for my computers? Laptop restarts 50% of the time when the power cord comes out Hi there, I suppose this issue could be seen as a need for a tweak (but apologise if I am posting in the wrong forum). I have had this issue for a while with my Dell Studio XPS 1645 laptop. It is a guess, but i'd say 5/10 times the power cord comes out of the laptop (for whatever reason -... |
