Task bar is unlocked, but I can't still can't move it

I unwittingly moved the taskbar to the top of the screen, I usually have it at the bottom. I don't know how it happened.

Although it's unlocked, I'm unable to drag it as though it were still locked. I am able to re-size it though.

    Tried re-booting, made no difference.

    Thanks for any help.

Should be easy. Did you try doing this
Click a blank portion of the taskbar.
Hold down the primary mouse button, and then drag the mouse pointer to the place on the screen where you want the taskbar

Yes, I've tried that, it doesn't drag, as though it's still locked, even though it is definitely unlocked.

I'd already tried the 'properties' route, but the field allowing the position wasn't present in the dialog box.

I've just discovered there's a registry key field which apparently you can delete (which I just did), and voila the reposition field is now present in the dialog box.

    So it's working now.

    Thanks for your help

    Cheers,
    Bernie
