Windows 7 mousekeys do not save settings.

I have been trying to use mousekeys for a game bu when i go to the "set up Mouse Keys" area and enable "Turn on mousekeys" and hit apply it doesnt turn them on. If i hit okay then reload it it will have the box unchecked again, if i set it up through "set up mousekeys" and enable and hit okay it will be unchecked again when it goes back to the main area. My mousekeys use to work a year ago but when i tried them today they are not working.

Vista Home Premium 32 bit

I'm having the same problem, and looking here even though I have Vista; because no-one else is posting on this. I tell you up front I don't have a decent solution, but out of desperation and hitting every key/setting imaginable it seems that rebooting will reflect your most recent changes (that weren't sticking).
There's another poster in this forum from 2014 that said the same thing.
