    Command Prompt question

A weird thing has been bothering me for a while - I usually run command-line by simply typing "cmd" in the search box of the start menu. I have the background color changed to gray, from the usual black. Well, I have ran cmd enough times to have windows place a shortcut on the start menu, but if I just click on the shortcut - the background of the command-line that opens is the original black and the font is different.

    What gives?!?

Usually it'll have it's own settings per location it was opened from.

If you open cmd from the shortcut and set it to how you like and close it, does it open the same next time?
