Hi Everyone: Well after a few weeks of letting the system sit overnight with no users logged on, I finally got back to this issue. By then, it would take a dozen cycles of the On/Off switch on the monitor to get it to stay on and usable. Obviously, the energy saver circuitry was going out on the old Lenovo LCD screen, but there was no way to override that feature. Went out and bought a new 19" LED monitor and connected it to the graphics card with the DVI cable. Works just like it's supposed to. Sorry to drag everyone through this confusion. Wish I had access to another monitor, or just had spent the money for a new one back in February.
