My administrative password is not being accepted

The lid on my HP laptop slammed shut and now my password is not being accepted. (I will never password protect another computer). It doesn't give me any instructions on what I need to do to fix this problem. I cannot do virus scans, defrag or anything. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much but I've read the instructions and it will be way too hard for me, plus I don't have a CD; what is a USB?

Yes, I have and they're not, unfortunately. Thanks.

Universal Serial Bus (Stick) --> google
You will need a USB-Stick or a CD burner.
You can also try konboot, but you won't get far without USB or CD...
