Uninstall Programs / Missing Program Icon Fix?

In the Uninstall Programs menu I have a missing program icon.

I was wondering if there was any way I could manually go in and change the icon?

    Anyone know?

    Thanks.

If I were to re-install the game, not only would that take a large amount of time, but I wouldn't even be 100% I would get the icon back anyways. I'll ask again, is there any way I can manually go into my system and set an icon for the programs listed in the uninstall menu? I thought this forum would be more informative and knowledgeable. That response was terribly dissatisfying, especially from someone with 13,000 posts and is considered a Seven Guru. I question that title.

    No way I am aware of that allows changing the icon manually, but you could try rebuilding the icon cache;

Cynczy being polite will get you a lot more response from more members.

In my opinion this is not called for.

If you don't like the recommendations of a helper just don't use it.

I know of no way you can do what you are wanting to do in the fashion you have requested from the Uninstall Program.

Rebuilding your Icon Cache as Sir George has recommended may or may not solve your problem.
If you are inclined you can try it.

You could also try going to the program and right ticking and select properties/change icons and select what you want and see if it show up that way in Add and Remove programs.

I really don't know because I have never had a desire to do such a thing.

    Hey

I recently learned how to modify entries in program and features, I'm on 32bit Windows Ultimate but I'm sure it's similar. Start Menu > Search > Regedit then navigate to the path below

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall \ Tera

If you can't see Tera listed browse through the entries paying attention to 'DisplayName' strings which should reference to Tera then right click in blank area to add New String labeling it 'DisplayIcon' then in the value point to the installation path of Tera.exe

C:\Program Files 64\Tera.exe < Example only manually navigate to install path and copy the address location making sure it points too the executable Tera.exe

Then re-open control panel and it should now display its icon :) You can modify other values such as DisplayName, DisplayVersion, Publisher if you want to tidy it up even further or you can hide the an installed programs entry by renaming 'DisplayName' to 'NoDisplayName', I found it useful to hide entries like Microsoft .Net Framework and Microsoft Visual C++ leaving only my programs. It may seem tedious and waste of time to most users but I get my computer configured to desirable state then disk image and utilize boot restore software so it's locked in permanently

How to hide an entry in the Add/Remove Programs applet?
