    BTW, Wolfgang is absolutely correct about the file manager in Puppy. I just had occasion to use it in dealing with a Vista install, and it was horrendous. I would switch my recommendation to an older, free, copy of Parted Magic.

    Thanks for reporting back. You have to use that stuff to realize what it is all about. And the small footprint of Puppy is neither here nor there for that kind of operation. It has the WHOLE system to run.
