    Classic logon box

Can anyone explain why Microsoft have removed the old fashioned classic logon box within Windows 7?

Does anyone know of any suitable software that will do this?

Before my organisation upgrades we need this feature.

    Regards

    This just enables the ctl-alt-del.

What i'm looking for is the old fashioned logon box where you enter your username, password and select domain,
and why Microsoft has removed this option.

The old classic logon dialog box was removed in Windows Vista & Windows 7. You can't get it back.

No there is no software. And it was removed because it was unnecessary.

    old thread revived...

Hi, I was just passing through, trying to find an answer to this as I remember doing a Windows 7 course a while back, and you definitely CAN use the classic 2-box login (or 3-box if you're uising domains).

Anyway, after a lot of searching, I found this page from MS telling you how - worked for me.

    Hope this helps.

You could also alternatively make windows require a username AND password to logon, which is almost exactly like the classic logon.
