Can't print color from my photos

I can print color from a word doc, a website, pretty much anywhere except in My Pictures file. I spent an hour with someone from Canon (have a Canon printer) and he said it was a Windows problem. I do not have grayscale checked, and again the color printing is only affected by anything from my windows picture file. It just started happening a few weeks ago. Very frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You`re saying a picture downloaded from a camera, phone etc. will not print out in color ?

Maybe uninstall the Canon drivers and re install.

Interesting...with windows photo viewer and microsoft picture manager (which I usually use to edit) it comes out b/w. But if I open with Paint, it prints in color (bad for printing though---it prints a larger size even at the smallest setting)

hmmm...thanks for suggestion, but after clicking on that link, the warning has me concerned about doing that. Thanks anyhow. (Just realized that I am in 7 forum and I have windows 8---but when I googled this problem I saw people with the same problem going back to 2008---and no solutions

a sfc runs the same in 8, no problem running it. What are you worried about ?

    Windows 8 Forums

Just un install the Canon drivers and software and re install, and change your default program to open pictures to windows photo viewer.
