Tracking what's downloading to my computer

Something, somebody just downloaded over 4 GB to my computer. I ran Malwarebytes and it did not find anything amiss. I have no idea what downloaded, where it came from or where it went. I checked the Task Scheduler. It did not indicate anything scheduled for downloading, nor did it mention anything about anything being downloading.

How can I track this in the future?

I'm using Networx to view download speeds but can't find anything in that program that tells me where the download is originating. Any suggestions appreciated.

    No way, seriously ?

How did you know, did you just happen to check disk space or something ?

Networx displays a real time graph of what is being downloaded and uploaded. In my case, my max download is 2.1 MB. Strangely, the downloaded started at 9.6 MB which is a speed I don't have. This went on for about 30 seconds until it settled at 2.1 MB. I restarted a few times buy the download always resumed.

I used WinDirStat to see what was downloaded today as all I've done was browse a few news sites. The usage report said my total for today is 4.7 GB. No way could I rack this up browsing news sites.

At any rate, the download began AFTER I finished browsing.

In the WinDirStat picture, 4.7GB should make a pretty big blip. Did you check all the biggies from the picture.

I went thru all the files listed as changed for today. Unfortunately, WinDirStat time reporting is about 9 hours off into the future. The download happened at about 10:00 AM. WinDirStat listed them at about 6:00 PM today. One folder was a Microsoft folder. There were many files in the folder with only 2 listed with today's date and time. The rest were somewhat older files, so it's possible the download could be for a upcoming update.

At any rate, I'd still like to know where a download is originating from.
