Windows 7: Whats My PC Doing At Every Startup!?

Whats My PC Doing At Every Startup!?

Everytime I turn my PC on in the morning. It appears to be doing something what I think is possible disk defragmenting. It makes my PC virtually unresponsive and takes ages for things to open. Today I had to wait about 7 minutes just for Firefox to open. Then Firefox locks up and freezes up because of it. I've tried to look in Task Manager but can't seem to identify anything that would give it away. Attached is a print screen shot of processes running in Task Manager.

I don't know why it feels like it needs to do this EVERY time I start my PC. It's starting to get REALLY annoying. I wish that I could identify what is going on. I can hear the thing clicking away like its moving large chunks of data around until it eventually slows down and stops which takes about 10 minutes.

I'm using a Packard Bell All-In-One OneTwo L 18524.
Windows 7 64bit. 2GB RAM (I recently removed 1 stick as it was faulty)
I say recently that was about 5 months ago and PC runs fine once its finished doing whatever it does.

How can I find out what its doing at startup thats slowing down my PC and disable it?

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

2GB of RAM is really so little for 64 bits Windows, it's the bare minimum it can use. You really want to upgrade it as soon as possible, or to switch to 32 bits if not possible. Insufficient RAM is a typical cause of general slowdown and startup becomes slow too, as well as general usage most times.

Apart from that, have a look at what programs are scheduled to run at startup. Try to use Autoruns to see everything launched at that moment. Disabling some programs from there could greatly help.

What is vprotect? I'm wondering if there are some monitoring & protecting software set a little too assertively [?by factory?]. And, yes, 2GM RAM is much too little for any Windows 7 & beyond. Best is 8GB. If one is a master 3D graphic designer or majorly-deep software creater -- 16GB is best. Buy the sticks in twin-pack; make sure of the technical, architectural specs; check w/computer manufacturer.

Yeah I hear you, I really need to buy a new stick. Just being a bit lazy and bit short of funds atm.
I did buy some from somewhere, can't remember where, but 1 stick went faulty after about a year and I kept getting BSOD's
So pulled it out like a bad tooth!

VProtect Application and the file vprot.exe are part of AVG Toolbar.
Not that I use ANY toolbars. I can disable that safely but that's not whats causing/doing it I don't think.

Will run that autoruns tomorrow when I boot up.

You're not seeing all the processes running in Task Manager in the screen print in post #1.
