Folder just deleted itself, now empty..

    Folder just deleted itself, now empty..


    Logged in and my folder with games is now empty. 0 byte, nothing in it, everything is gone. Nothing else has happened, it's just that folder. Here's what I have tried to figure this out:

    - CHKDSK
    - Anti Virus scan
    - Defrag
    - Data Recovery software

    The folder remains completely empty. Any idea what could cause something like this?


    EDIT: I was installing Elder Scrolls Online, and apparently it deletes all other content when installed to a custom folder. So problem solved I guess :S
    Installed ESO to custom folder and it deleted all other content in that folder! - Elder Scrolls Online

    Hello have you tried to go back to a restore point to see if that will help.

    No, haven't tried that. Just reinstalled my games. I'm happy that it wasn't a a problem with Windows 7 after all.

My computer was hit a malware. I was able to clean/quarantine the malware, but my startup folder is empty. From the Windows logo start, I am able to see the folders in "All Programs". But all the folders are empty. These startup folders are also empty when I navigate to their locations in Window...
:(Whenever I delete a file, it goes to the recycle bin. Now, all of a sudden, the opton to Empty Recycle Bin is grayed out and no matter what I do, the option to Empty does not activate. I'm wondering if the file is actually deleted" How do I get this to work again? Thanks very much....
