Color Management "Add..." Profile Not Working

    Hey guys,
I just got a brand new ASUS PB278Q which its great, except for the fact that I can't seem to get a really good calibration through the OSD. So, I am trying to use an ICC profile from TFTcentral to see if its any better. The problem is, when I open Color Management and click on the button labeled "Add...", click "Browse" and select on the profile I want, nothing shows up under "Profiles associated with this device:" and my monitors color profile is not changed. I have tried doing this with multiple .icc files, in several different locations on my computer (including "C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color"), yet I have not received any differentiating results. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this or if there are any alternatives?

    Thanks!

What`s wrong with the default options on the monitor.

If you`re unhappy with the monitor, by all means return it.

    Go with a different brand.

Its a very common practice to calibrate a monitor. Calibrating a monitor is a necessity for people who do things like photo editing with on computer. In fact, if a photo editors monitor is not correctly reproducing shades and colors, then all the time spent on image editing and post-processing could actually be counter-productive. Most monitors do not come pre calibrated and need to be calibrated or all the colors could look completely off. And its not like I don't like the brand, in fact I really like it. Though, if it were calibrated it would look absolutely gorgeous.

I'm saying it can do what I want, it just needs some tweaking...

Alrighty then, get on the phone to Asus and get that thing calibrated.

I just don`t see the logic in coming to a Windows 7 forum for help on calibrating your Asus monitor.

I wish you nothing but the best :)

I don't need help calibrating the monitor... I need help because the color management, a piece of software that comes with Windows 7, is not working as it should.
