Format or Uninstall and Defrag.

    My point in this situation is to defrag after you remove a program, yes, once would be fine in this instance, maybe twice. A proper defraged drive should get it done in seconds.

    Whenever I advise doing it 3 to 4 to 5 times it`s for the people who come claiming their PC is running extremely slow and hasn`t had a re install in years and they do not want to re install :)

    My Apologies AddRam I was only trying to make the point that to save space cleaning the registry is not the way to go. And I'm sorry but I don't need 5000 posts to voice my opinion.

    In another place, the techs are very clear on advising anyone in that other place -- do not use registry cleaners. However, I also have been using well-configured, well-setup registry cleaners and register editors cautiously, selectively -- and like the others here -- have had very few problems.
    A related aside: I do not compress or compact the registry ever.

    AddRAM, did you ever try out Registrar Registry Manager? I have, it's pretty cool, I was able to root out license numbers no longer needed, and now the laptop I took to school only has free stuff on it.
