Probs with Arranging mp3 files on Flash Drive according to numbers ?

Long story short.. in the past when I used to use my old flash drive, all I had to do was just copy the mp3 files, rename the files with sequential numbers, so that they play according to my liking..

scenario changed , new Flash Drive, San Disk - I don't need any complicated stuffs.. I just need my Flash Drive mp3 files to play according to the sequential numbers but they don't. I have copied all the files & renamed the files with sequential numbers but my amplifier starts playing the files on its wish.. The file which I have placed at 001, plays at 011, 004 plays at 022, only 1 or 2 files on a whole play according to my numbering..

I'm clueless what more to do to sort this out.. would love some help .. Just want my music files to play according to sequential order, there are roughly just 22 files on the drive

I'm wondering if you're going to have to build a playlist. I haven't done such in years. I await wiser gurus for this good topic. :)

What player are you using? The sequence music files are played in can usually be manipulated by the player with options to play sequentially, randomly, via playlist, etc... Maybe on your player you accidentally selected Random or Shuffle play.

actually its an amplifier I'm trying to play it in.. it doesn't have advanced features such as shuffle or random.. all it can do is play either audio files via USB stick or play Radio.. My old USB used to work great on it, I had to give away the old stick to someone, so I just copied some of the same old files over here, directly from my pc & now.. its all gone haywire..

I haven't checked it with my DVD player though...my guess would be it would play the same way as the amplifier, as it used to do the same with my old Flash Drive
