Nice then! but as you said nobody is still sure...Hope nothing weird happens.
I'm in no rush to install W10 anyway. Certainly not within the first few months.
To be sincere same here, apparently they are still making changes to Windows 10...so yeah no hurry.

Nobody is 100% sure as MS hasn't really said much about anything. But there's no way they wouldn't let you clean install once you took the deal. As LF says you'll be issued with an upgrade license key.
You should be able to get an iso.

I'll give it a few months, let them iron out some early bugs, give 3rd party software a chance to fix any incompatibilities, and read a lot of reviews before I take the plunge.

I've guinea-pigged enough things in the past to know not to rush in anymore!

Thanks Groze, I knew I'd seen it somewhere that stated about the ISOs.

My guess is their preferred method will be to deliver it via Windows Update but they'll certainly offer ISOs too for either upgrade or clean install. Hopefully the ISOs will be available on the day of release.

I completely skipped 8 so can't remember how they did it last time.

Dah, who reads right columns? I'm installing it anyway.
Yea if I had any intension of going to win-10 on either of my older systems I probably would too

When 8 was first released it was 14.99 and a download of I believe a esd you would just run after downloading.
Some people said it was a iso but an upgrade is usually just an .exe file like any installer would be.

    Mmmm... That makes me wonder.
I have an upgrade version of Windows 7.
I wonder if that makes any difference?

Yep one of mine is a 7 upgrade which a clean install I have to use Shawn's .bat file to activate after install otherwise it's a long road to use it the conventional way via Vista sp3 :/

Just to clarify a bit these updates are too vague at this point "if" there is a "Do Not Ask Again" link on the 10 read for download alerts... I might consider loading them
At this point I see no reason too without more information about how they will act
I certainly would not want to be harassed at every startup about 10 read to be downloaded or every hour on the hour forever after 10 is ready
