How to change the jumplist number (in memory)of the system tray alone?

Although I think I went to the right place to change the amount of files showing up on jump-lists it seems this number does not apply to the number a jump list keeps in memory. I downloaded and installed Classic Start Menu in order to help me with this, but this too has not such place to change the amount.
Let me explain further as to what I actually want. I do not mean how many files are shown but rather how many files exist in memory. As of now, I have 14 files showing and if I R-click and delete one another will immediately take it's place again showing 14 and I can keep on doing this again and again until it's exhausted--I've counted up to 100. How do I change this number? (in other words, for ex. I can see 12 but keep just 3 more in memory--totaling a maximum of 15.) I am interested in only changing the number of software on the Taskbar
    Thank you

[My apologies for the subject question saying ''system tray'' instead of ''taskbar''. The editing button allows the changing of text but not the changing of the subject heading.]

Wow 267 views, in other words 267 showed interest on the topic but no one has an answer. If any of you came here because you to were looking for a solution please let us know in the hope of getting an answer if more people show interest.

Should my question not have been clear I will rephrase it. At the bottom task bar, when you open a program (media player, photoshop, explorer etc. you can R-click on it and it will show you a list of the file you previously opened. While right-clicking you can choose to either open a given file or delete it. I have deleted file after file after file, as said, totalling at times over a hundred. I would like to limit this to a smaller number (10 ideally).

Let me see if I understand.

When you right tick on a Taskbar icon the list that jumps up has 100 entries.
    Is that correct?

Did you try, right click Start Menu globe - properties - start menu - customize - Number of recent items to display in jump lists

Also see JumpListsView - View jump lists information stored by Windows 7

To clean jump list - cleans everything including recents and Start Menu recents:
Open Start Menu properties (as above) uncheck the two privacy settings, apply and re-check them. Apply - ok out

    Good call GokAy.
That just might be what pintree3 is looking for.

The list does not reside in memory. The list is written to certain files:

I do not see any way to limit it the size of that list.

...and I don't understand why Microsoft makes folders that do not show in the Navigation pane.

Thanks GokAy, UsernameIssues-- good idea to get rid of everything and may use it from time to time so thanks. But unfortunately it is not really what I wanted. I wanted a limit to the list and that is all.
As to your Q "Layback Bear When you right tick on a Taskbar icon the list that jumps up has 100 entries."
No it has 12 or so (Having done your trick above no longer makes it possible for me to count them) BUT what happens when I delete one, it is replaced by yet another, and then another and then another, hence my 100+. And I wanted that to be limited.
I'm wondering if this will be controlled with Windows 10, since we are all getting it for free in a month

What would be a reason or benefit to limit the list?

UsernameIssues: Good question. What would be the reason?
If I may, let me reply with a question: What's the benefit of having it endless, or 100 of them?
In my case it's privacy. A right-click will show anyone access to what I have seen or read (Movie, photo, document) So I must constantly delete them. And it's one thing to delete 10 it's another to delete 100.
Why not have it to always be empty? Because it's a quick way to access recent files (But I certainly do not need a quick way to access file #56 on the list, which isn't quick at that point anyhow.)

[Side note: Years ago I had asked how to control the Start Menu, Recent Item list: which shows everything recent images, movies, documents etc. And, at the time at least, there was no way to control what shows up there. To me the only thing I would want there is Office Documents and nothing more--the current method of the Task Bar list is an improvement but still not what I like.]

If you want them always empty, go back to my post and only do the unchecking part. It won't be stored that way.
Open Start Menu properties (as above) uncheck the two privacy settings, apply
