I refuse to trust ANY .exe that mysteriously shows up on my computer - claiming to be TrustedInstaller.exe - without giving me the opportunity to evaluate and potentially BLOCK whatever it's installing! Now looking for a way to BLOCK this sucker before it does damage. It's obviously *arriving* over the 'net. (I keep Windows Update confined to "select updates to install.")

    Hi Billm5,

TrustedInstaller AKA Windows Module Installer is located in local services

you can turn if off there
BUT its a good way to break your system as multiple drivers will not load
