Hi everyone, im having a weird issue that after i startup, mean after the loading screen, the mouse and keyboard is hang (as in when explorer is not responding...mouse slide glittching and keyboard takes 10s to assign 1 key) after about 2-5 mins, it back to normal...
Can anyone point me the issue? like what i should check for my startup? i have already try uncheck all in msconfig but it still like that, also clean virus, malware etc.
Hi tj. Do you mean once it boots to the desktop it's unusable for a couple minutes? This is normally due to programs grabbing the network to update, very often the anti-virus (AV).
It might also be a conflict... for instance if there is more than one AV running (which there shouldn't be, but you should disable Windows Defender in admin tools -> services, assuming you have another AV installed)... and if using a 3rd party firewall and Windows Firewall is also enabled, this can also cause conflicts, particularly at boot (again services -> Windows Firewall).
I would disable the AV and any 3rd party firewall, make sure they won't start with the reboot, then reboot and see if the problem has gone away. If so re-enable just one of the programs, and reboot to test until you find the culprit.
If you truly have no AV or FW running now and it's happening anyway, it's probably a driver conflict. Check admin tools -> event viewer -> Windows Logs -> System ...for red error messages and yellow warnings. The text associated will point you to the problem.

i got the avast antivirus for years ady and i don't think that cause the cuprit, im also disabled all windows firewall and defender.
i follow your instruction and read the logs and i found out maybe the VMWare or Office 2013 is causing this, i just grab them recently also, but i already disable them from startup...@-@
I also used Avast for many years until a few weeks ago, and one of the reasons I got fed up was it hogging resources at boot. Did you disable it from starting when you reboot?
You can also edit an avast file to tell it to wait a certain amount of time (seconds determined by you) before grabbing for the network. It helped ease my situation at the time:
Delay Database Update for 3min At Boot

avast5.ini -> look for [InetWD] section
Broadband connections, add these lines if not present (or edit AssumeAlwaysConnected=0 to AssumeAlwaysConnected=1)

When complete save the changes, avast's self-defence module will ask for confirmation, etc. answer Yes. You can extend this duration if required. (You can change 180 to however many seconds you want.)
Also, AVAST runs what's called "Emergency Update" every so often which can take a long time and hog resources. Or if you have the program set to auto-upgrade the program itself (not just the av database) that can cause a lag... esp if you keep interrupting it and not letting it finish... it will keep trying at the next boot (which is true of any program, not just avast, unless you set them to never check for updates).
But again, AVs are tricky and when you think you have disabled them, they are actually starting at boot. You can go to admin -> services -> and look for the Avast entries, right-click -> properties -> click the STOP button, then set the value to DISABLED and click OK. Disable all of the Avast services (there are 3, I think, but not sure). Reboot.
Remember to go back to the admin -> services and re-enable the Avast svs to be automatic when you have finished the troubleshooting.
Also, if AVAST isn't the problem, reboot a few times and check the event logs each time, as any program can cause a delay in any particular boot sequence, but you are looking for something that is coming up EVERY time.

To disable Avast services I believe you will need to first disable the avast self-protection module from inside the avast GUI... It's in Settings menu near the bottom of the tree... I can't remember now what the path is, but you can un-tick the box(es) that have to do with avast not allowing programs/people to make changes to its services... like to disable it. When you untick the box you get a red warning (in the newer Avast versions) that it's unwise to do. Ignore and continue...
It's Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Enable Avast self protection module (untick)
i just tried disable it but the problem still persist, checked log again then only got these error

The VMWare error is a time out error of 60,000 ms or 1 minute. That was the biggest delay.
You might (for fun) look for the VMWare service in admin -> services -> right click Properties -> click Dependencies tab and make sure any services it depends on are started and set to start automatically or manually at least, but not disabled. If it relies on services that are not started it will hang while waiting for those services to start. You can also set the VMWare service to start "Auto (Delayed)" to give other services a chance to start, if required. (I don't have VMWare installed but someone who does might be able to help more.)
I hope you're on the right track... another place to check boot problems and delays:
Admin Tools -> Application & Service Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Diagnostics Performance -> Operation (subkey) ....
Event 100 = boot time
Event 101-110 = boot delay problems
To see only boot delay problems, click on "Filter current Log" in the right-hand pane, then tick all the boxes for various warnings and enter 101-110 in the Event ID field like the attached pic. This is another way to see what's slowing down the boot process.
thanks, i search on internet and it seems fixing the service takes quite the step ._. so i just uninstall it and install newer version, hopefully it fix the problem! probably its not really related to anything else except that.
