    Asus laptop RAM problem

I run Windows 7 64 bit on my G73JW series Asus laptop with 8GB of Ram that is now reading and using only 4GB. I ran an avast standalone cleaning tool which discovered malware hidden in the C:\Windows\winsxs\wow64_microsoft-windows files which I of course deleted. Does anyone know how to get my laptop to read the 8GB of RAM again instead of just the 4GB it is currently reading?

Secondly, my printer (a pos canon mx310) no longer has the prompt to scan when I right click the print image in the hardware and sound file under view devices and printers. This happened once before and reloading the disk that came with the printer fixed it however my moronic brother helped himself to that CD and left it in the car on a hot day so it no longer reads. NOTE THIS - THE DOWNLOAD FROM CANON FOR THIS PRINTER DOES "NOT" FIX OR HELP THIS PROBLEM. So please don't tell me to go there and download it. I have written to canon and they no longer have the original software that came with the printer. If someone has that CD I'd love to get a clone of it. THX!

Lastly, backup won't complete as well. ARGHHHH lol

OK unplugged 3 of the 4. ! in on the other side of the motherboard and Im not about to get to it. Everyone I know that has tried to get to that one including people who paid someone to do it for them, lost their speakers becasue that plug has no extra wire and soon as you try to unplug it you pull the wires out. Anyway it fixed it and now it again reads all 8GM of RAM. ty vm

Ill called this solved and report the printer and backup problem on a new thread.:)

    Thanks for the help Brian

NO idea how my Ram suddenly just stopped working now how unplugging it and putting it back in fixed it but it worked so no complaints here. Thank you again for your help Brain.
