Windows 7: New hardware kit, stops at Windows 7 startup screen

New hardware kit, stops at Windows 7 startup screen

I installed my new kit I bought from NewEgg.

Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE.
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 4 GB.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 Haswell Quad-core 3.3 GHz.
RAM: G.Skill Ares 4 gb x2 (8 gb total).
Power supply: Rosewill Fortress-750 watt.

I installed the parts and the computer does run. It will quickly go through a series of pages, a total black screen with a small white letter at the bottom right, then the motherboard page, and the starting windows page. It go through the animation of two of the four colored dots for a second and stop, crash and go through the series of three pages again before going to the windows error page. Upon running the restore it tells me it is unable to fix it. I am also unable to install the drivers for the motherboard and video card, and under the BIOS page the video card does not even register, though I believe that is due to the drivers. I did not buy a new hard drive and still have the original windows install on there. How can I fix this to get windows to run? If anything else is needed just ask. Thanks in advance!

Did you clean install windows on the new equipment ?

You can`t just use a drive from other equipment like that, without using a tool like Paragon while the drive is still connected to the old system.

The best thing to do is clean install windows now.

If you don`t have a windows install dvd, it`s gonna be tough.

I've not done another install of windows. That must be where my problem is then. I was unaware of needing to do a clean install of windows. I will try this and see where it goes.

You can also Adjust Win7 to boot on new hardware with Paragon Adaptive Restore CD.

There is more than drivers that may make the OS fail to boot on newer hardware. It also requires resetting the SID and HID sometimes. PAR does all of this and makes it boot every time, swapping out all the drivers in a cascade you can monitor from the System Tray animation, until it requests several reboots.

If it doesn't start changing out drivers after running PAR, restart until it does.
