Desktop Icon Settings - 2 Temp Trash symbols (one full, one empty)

I haven't accessed the above for a while and now see that I have TWO symbols there.... I made some deletions in the trash section but it still has the 'full' symbol, i.e. temp trash (full) and also another one saying empty, i.e. temp trash (empty). What's going on? I can see there would need to be 2 bins if
one was full but now I have deleted a lot of stuff so it is only about 25% filled....why does it still say full?
Is there a delay with assimilating the deleted change and showing this?

I am a bit nervous about doing the tutorials link you gave since I don't fully understand it (and am not sufficiently techno savvy to be confident in proceeding with it unless it makes sense to me), e.g. will it delete what is there in trash currently? (I have some stuff in there just as a kind of backup, i.e. not fully ready to let go of it yet). Also I googled regedit (which is the procedure used) and it seems to involve system restore!

The 2nd link is about icon symbols.

Is there another way or can you, perhaps, explain what is happening with the tutorial method and whether it would delete what I now have in trash storage?

Hey, neither of the methods "should" delete Recycle Bin contents. Still, wait for someone that has done it before to comment.

However here is the default values for the registry, check them in the meanwhile:
