    svchost using a LOT of memory


    Hi all you super techy people.

    So My PC has crashed a few times the last few days with a low memory error, I am running 16GB RAM and haven't had any issues before.

    I have done some research and downloaded process explorer, svchost is using over 8gb memory and I'm baffled as to why.

    Any help much appreciated.

    I am quite new at this thing so forgive me if I give nonsense direction :)

    There are few svchost processes so you should find which process is the one with PID 184. I am sure gurus will respond by the time you find out the culprit, then you can work on a resolution with them.

Hello, I noticed my memory usage was at 42%, when it is usually 25-30%. I opened task manager and found 12 different processes of svchost.exe running. One of then was using 149,156 k of memory, from which I understand is a whole lot. Is this normal? And if it isn't how do I fix it? Thanks in...
