    Unable to access Administrator, Win7

    Bizarre situation.

I have a laptop that has one active user account (Standard User). The administrator account is disabled, as is Guest.

All of the tutorials I've found for accessing the elevated Administrator account require an account with admin privs, which I don't have. All of the methods for enabling the administrator account require me to use another account with administrator privs, which I don't have.

I don't have access to the install media for this machine (it's my Mom's, no idea where she 'safely' stored them).

I used LiveCD to try and crack the administrator password, that shows the administrator account is disabled.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

PS - No, I don't have any idea how someone got the machine to this state. She lives in CO, and has 'helpful' neighbors who 'used to be technical'...

I have posted about this on another thread but OP hasn't tried it yet:

    - Download and make bootable media for Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor (maybe you used this to reset password?)
    - Boot with the media
    - Change the registry as follows:
    -- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\SetupType - set the value to 2
    -- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\CmdLine - set the value to cmd.exe
    - Restart the PC, it should open a command prompt
    - Enter: net localgroup Administrators [UserLoginName] /add
-- where [UserLoginName] is your regular user account name, as in C:\Users\
    - restart PC
    - login with your own account, which should be now a local administrator

You can also try the next command if above doesn't work:
    - net user Administrator /active:yes
    - reset Administrator password with the above bootable media or some other similar program
    - login with Administrator
