Seven Usage Question

Hi everyone,

I got Seven 64bit release 7K and it is awesome. I was wondering though, and this is probably a dumb question, but I can continue to use this Beta for as long as I wish, correct? I mean it does not have a "trial" type time limit or anything like that correct?

I will certainly buy the OS eventually, however, I've got roughly a year until I get out of college and will have the money for it. Until then I was just planning to continue using it indefinitely, if possible.

Thanks for your time.

Nevermind, I just read about the expiration at Aug. 01, 2009.

With or without a product key, all pre-release versions of Windows 7, but not earlier than the 6801 build, can only be used up until August 1, 2009. At this point the time bomb will activate and the prerelease of Windows 7 will stop working as per the End User License Agreement with Microsoft: “This software will stop running on August 1, 2009. You may not receive any other notice. You may not be able to access data used with the software when it stops running.”.

Hi Entropy,

Type winver into the start search box and click it when it pops up - that will tell you when it expires.

Hope it helps

Power Supply Size Question. (and on USB 2 or 3 usage)
Hello, a. Is a 300 watt power supply sufficiently large for a desktop pc ? PC would have a single 1 TB hd, and lots of USB ports usage. No gaming, but lots of videos. Or, would 400 watts be a lot "safer" ? b. USB 3 usage very prevalent these days, or USB 2 still most popular and used ?

This is my first post. I am reviewing specifications for my first PC build to replace my 2002 Dell tower! Yes pretty old but still going. I am hung on the OS though. I have read thru many threads and have a good understanding of the differences of Full, OEM, Upgrade. It is my thought that I...

My Computer Drive usage question.
In the My Computer screen it shows all of my drives and how much data is free of the total amount of data. I was wondering if it was possible for windows to tell me how much is used of the total, rather than how much is free. It's just not as instinctive for me to see free space and quantify it as...
