"Get Windows 10" Icon in the bottom-right corner

    Greetings, I have a question.

Today on May 31st, I noticed on my Windows 7 64-bit computer than a new icon was present on desktop's screen, along with Network, PC Issues, and Volume Icons. Here is a screenshot of the new Icon, circled in Red:

Is it necessary that I update my computer, or can I remain with my Windows 7? My mother has Windows 8 and it is extremely complicated for both her and I to use, and I am quite comfortable with my 7. Will it automatically be applied the next time I shut down my computer? A little clarification on this new icon would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Goji73,

That is related to a recent update, it will not automatically update you to windows 10.

There is another discussion related to this here,

Remove "Get Windows 10" from taskbar

Or see the following tutorial for removal instructions - Get Windows 10 Icon - Remove from Taskbar in Windows 7 and 8.1 - Windows 10 Forums

You`ve installed an update, that update then sets up what is happening, now you`ll get asked if you want to reserve your place or whatever to upgrade to Windows 10 when it goes public.

I have 2 machines that wont show the icon. one windows 8.1 and a windows 7 machine. both support windows 10 and has windows 10 insiders build install on separate partitions. so I know windows 10 runs on them

A lot of those updates do not apply to windows 10tp,
As far as I know only the bottom 5 do,
    Cheers.

Only update that cause corruption (a pseudo one that is) is KB3022345, neither laptop nor desktop suffer from the others. Maybe they were problematic when released and fixed later?

On a side note, I have W10 updates hidden on desktop. I plan on getting it for laptop.

KB3022345 was installed on my computer on the 13th of May. (I didn't know about it at the time, it just said it was a recommended update...) Will that cause any concerning problems to my Windows 7 (besides this unusual icon?)
