Volume label (unknown) in System Recovery Options
Hoping somebody can help me with this one...
I dropped my laptop while it was starting up. Needless to say, it didn't like it.
On restarting, it didn't boot properly, but went to "repairing startup errors", and hung at that point.
I dug out the retail W7 disk I used for installation (Pro x64 with SP1), and eventually got the system recovery options interface working*.
It sees the right partition, with Win7 installed, but instead of a volume label (C:, D: etc), it has (unknown), with a partition size of 0MB. I'm guessing this is why it won't boot into Windows. Sooo... how does one go about fixing this?!
Fwiw, it's a Lenovo Y410p with a single HDD, a mSATA SSD for caching, plus DVD drive.
*- I spent 90 minutes with the DVD saying that the System Recovery Options wasn't compatible with my version of Windows. Through trial and error and changing the boot mode to UEFI and back to legacy, I somehow got it working...
