Computer Running Really Slow When Installing Programs

    Hello,

I've been having some issues the past week with my computer. It's been randomly running incredibly slow, to the point where web pages don't load, I can't open anything, and eventually everything freezes and windows explorer crashes. It's really frustrating, because I can't do anything about it and just have to sit and wait for everything to return back to normal.

I may have found the issue for it, being that it only slows down like this whenever my computer is installing anything. Earlier I tried installing Zune, and as a result the slow down happened, which ended up making the installation fail - but my computer went back to normal.

I tried installing a couple other things to test it out, and found that this is (maybe, if only part) what is causing my computer to slow down. But having your computer to slow down, freeze, and having installations fail - is EXTREMELY frustrating.

I don't know what is causing this. I'm thinking maybe it's a issue with my hard drive? But i'm no computer expert, so that's why i'm here for any help :)

    Some Pointers:
    - It happened randomly, not sure I did anything to cause this.
    - I did a full system restore, and re-installed windows. Didn't help.
    - I did Defragment my hard drive.
    - Some time in the past couple weeks when I booted up my computer, I got a disk check on startup.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free and ESET Online to eliminate infections.

Try CMOS reset, loading optimized defaults in BIOS.
Try a clean startup and see if it will help Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup
