    Windows 10 update icon

I have received the download update KB3035583 but have not received the icon in my taskbar to click and reserve the Windows 10 update. I have my computer set to received updates automatically. How can I get the icon on my computer so I can get the Windows 10 download when available

Hello Baldy and welcome to Seven Forums.

During the past few months there were several Windows Updates released that had to do with checking Windows 7 computers for compatibility with Windows 10. I think KB3035583 is just one of several updates needed for the Get Windows 10 app.

First off, did you or do you have any hidden updates ?

If yes, please post a list.

If no, then go to reply #4 in this thread it will help you get the icon to appear.

    Win 10 pop up blank

The icon should show up, then in a few more days you`ll see this in windows update.

I recently had the same problem with one of the family computers. See
How to display the Windows 10 upgrade icon if it is not visible - gHacks Tech News

I downloaded and ran the batch file (run as admin). It fixed the problem. (In my case step 1 said all updates were there. It was step 2 that fixed it for me)

p.s. I was cautious of malware before downloading and running the batch file. I ran it through VirusTotal. I also found others online who used it without problem. I can now add myself to that list

One other thought: According to Microsoft, Windows 10 will be available free of charge for one year after the initial release. You don't need to reserve it. Just get it manually after it's released. Or reserve it from here:

    Ya, there`s no rush.

And I read/hear you`re gonna get a license for 10 if you`re running the TP.
