Alt-tab selecting window before I let go

You know how you do an Alt-Tab and that shows you all the window thumbnails and you can choose where you want to go by keeping the Alt key pressed and tapping on the Tab key? If you pause, it keeps you in the thumbnails until you either start tapping the Tab key again or let go of the Alt tab to select, right? Well, if I pause for an instant, it selects that window. If I keep the Alt key pressed, I can still tap the Tab key to keep moving to other windows, but they are the actual windows, I can't get back to the thumbnails.

Did I accidentally change some setting at some point?

    Thanks for your help.

Try: Computer - right click - properties - advanced system settings - advanced - performance settings
See if "Desktop Composition" and "Aero Peek" options are ticked.

Thanks for the reply. Those options were selected already. But it's not doing it anymore. Go figure...

    Hello Peter,

If you like, you can press CTRL+ALT+TAB instead to be able to tab and press Enter to select. :)
