No Permission to Access Folders in Old Hard Drive
Hi, my hard drive got into some trouble yesterday and I haven't been able to load Windows. I tried the different options in recover, but nothing worked (it says couldn't repair the error.)
I also tried loading in safe mode but it always got stuck at a certain .sys file.
I know I can access the files and it's probably the loading portion of Windows that is broken because I can delete, modify, etc. the files from the recover DOS prompt option.
Anyway, I bought a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 and things are okay with the new drive.
My problem now is I'm trying to pull out my data from the old drive (connected via external USB case) but when I click on the folders in the old drive, it tells me:
"You don't currently has permission to access this folder, click continue to permanently get access to this folder"
I understand why it's doing that, but when I click 'continue' nothing happens, and I still can't access it.
Is there a way to access and pull out my old files?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks.
PS. I'm using Windows 7 Home version.
