Computer stops working and all programs stop responding

I will now explain what happens:
Whenever I play a game or I am on skype with friends or I simply stay on the internet my computer will sometimes stop, all programs will stop responding (they wont start again either)and the only option I have left is to restart the pc. If this freeze happens when I am on skype the person who listens to me will hear a very loud static noise. Also if I have any video open when it happens the image will go crazy and random colors will op-up on screen before it closes itself.

Alot of people told me it might be from overheating. I changed my GPU now (the temp of the old one was about 70C now its 30C) but the GPU isnt 'overheating' now. The CPU is constant at 40C.

I will post my specs here:
-CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 710 2.60 GHz
    -RAM:4 GB
    -Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
    -GPU:ATI Radeon R7 260x 2GB

Anyone please give me any advice

    To remove Nvidia drivers:

Open Control Panel - Programs and Features - uninstall all NVIDIA entries.
    Restart
    Scan registry with CCleaner
