    Windows failed to start

    Hi,

I can not run my Windows 7 x64. I get the message:

    Status: 0xc000000f

Info: selection of shoes failed because the device is not required.

I tried to use the Windows installation disc to "Repair your computer" but when I chose "System Recovery Options" was not able to detect the operating system by default.
I do not know what to do and do not want to make it worse.
Can someone who knows more than I could help me to solve this problem.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

Do you have AVG as anti-virus?

Try to change your Windows drive to first SATA port (SATA-0 or SATA-1, check motherboard manual) if it is not there already.

It was not there. I changed but it didn't help.

    P.S.
    I don't use AVG as anti-virus.

Well, when I installed this new installation, I couldn't get a repair disk to work either. There were no OS listed, but I could see all drives alright when I tried to load drivers. After much searching I came up with this solution, and all is fine now.

Glad it worked for you too

Do you still get that error? Status: 0xc000000f
