    Recovering AutoCAD lost/deleted files

    Hi all,

After re-installing Win 7 I searched for AutoCAD .dwg files that I had saved them in G:\ drive, but can't find them. They may be deleted carelessly

I tested some recovering apps but could help me.

Is there any way/software best can recover those files please?

Download install and run Glary Utilities Glary Utilities | Glarysoft

Under File Management, click on Restore deleted files, scan your drive, check whether you can find the folder/files in good condition (not overwritten) to copy it.Copy it to some other location/ folder and then move/copy it to the original location.

How did you recover the files? Did the recovery program indicate that the files had not been overwritten and are good. ( If you had used Glary Utilities it will say so.)

If the files are intact then, this is application specific.

    Did you reinstall AutoCAD?

There may be a specific process to uninstall and reinstall the programs. If you hadn't adhered to that process and simply wiped your HDD and reinstall those programs, those may not work.

For example a licensed Shadow Protect Desktop. You have to deactivate it before uninstalling, which is noted in their server. If you uninstall it without first deactivating it, even if you reinstalll and enter the correct key it will not be taken cognisance of. Since no deactivation data is present in their server, your installation will be considered as multiple installation attempt and your key will be blacklisted.

While I do not know about AutoCAD, there may be some such process to be complied with. You may talk to AutoCAD tech support to sort out this problem.

Are these files you have opened before? (files created by later versions of AutoCAD can't always be opened by earlier versions)
