How do I change the default saving position on my desktop

I'm not exactly sure how to phrase what I'm asking for, so I'll show it with the pictures below

    here's my current desktop

Everything you see generally was the other way around; my folders were on the right because whenever I saved a picture from my browser, it'd save on the left.

I took a side-by-side picture of a after-and-before of how it looks after I save a picture (on the left side of my computer):

@the Shinobu picture at the top in the left one. It will save on that side and fill up any space left

I was wondering can I change the default saving position to the right side instead. I tried googling, but as I said early I'm not exactly sure how I'd word this for a search engine

I don't know of a way to accomplish what you want.

However, you can use Fences 1 free (Download Fences 1.01 - FileHippo.com). You can configure what files goes into which fence and some more. The current version is 2 (10USD, free version is time-based trial).

Edit: Wanted to clarify - Fences 1 free is unlimited-time free version.

Hi, you can use drag and drop if its for pictures from the web browser. Also it's best practice not to save to desktop.

I downloaded it and I think I'll use it. But how exactly do I change what files go in what fence?

Hmm, don't have the free version so forgive me if free doesn't support it.
Yeah, just installed it in a Virtual Machine, free version doesn't support it; here is a screenshot of the feature for Fences 2:

You can download the 30-day trial and see yourself. I know not as good as free but it is not much (10$).

Why not change where to download to from Desktop to a folder, like Downloads? Then when you are sure you want it on your Desktop, move it there, to the place you want it to occupy.

You could also use a program like DesktopOK to maintain icon positions on the Desktop.
