    Initiate HIBERNATE without keyboard

I have my laptop often set up with a HDTV running as a second monitor. I would like to be able to initiate HIBERNATE from where I am watching the television. In this case I can run the system with a wireless mouse and turn off the television with its own remote. But I cannot see the laptop screen well enough to pick off the HIBERNATE option off the interface.

Is there anything simple to be done here. I assume that I could purchase one of those taskbar extenders and (I assume) a MS START button (and resulting mouse actions) would be visible on the 2nd monitor. And I would definitely prefer not to buy a wireless keyboard just for this. Is there a more straight-forward solution here?

    Thanks.

Hello Dave, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

If you like, you might see if a hibernate shortcut placed where you like (ex: desktop) may work for you. This way, you could just click on it to hibernate the PC.
