Windows 7: Turn Monitors Display Off or Fully Turn Monitors Off?

I have 2 monitors connected & often I only need one, such as watching a video, so I just turn one them off at the monitor switch. If I want to leave the computer on for say half an hour while I answer the phone or something I turn the monitors off at their switch.

I also use Turn Display Off after 5 minutes if I get delayed away from the computer.

In this day & age LED monitors power up in a few seconds, not like they were in days gone by.

Monitors are on 24x7. Computers are turned on when in use, and in sleep mode when not. Simple.

I use under Display Surge Protectors. It's not hard to do, just one button.
The simple approach is always the best and most reliable

Hi, I've set Turn off the display setting in my power plan to 15 minutes and my monitor does turn off after that period (sometimes it doesn't!), but then, sometimes, it turns ON by itself after few minutes. I've been Google-ing these days trying to find some solution and I came across...

It seems to enjoy switching on both my monitors from standby at random times, especially in the early hours of the morning, while I am trying to get some rest. This was never a...
