Windows 7: Files with .owl extension

Files with .owl extension

Has anyone here experience of such files? I have done an extensive Google search and so far have found none that work, or do not require payment. As my need to open such a file will probably be one-off paying is not a sensible choice.

Hopefully someone can point me to either a suitable free app or advise how to deal with manually. Please! :)

Open the file with Notepad. That should tell you if it is an ONTOLOGY DOCTYPE.

If it looks* something like the image above, then use the link that CountryBumkin provided to work with the file.

In the meantime before your replies I did find something and the resultant page was in a -ml style. In end file was of no interest. Anyway no idea what Protege does or how to use.

Thanks guys and sorry for wasting you time.

A friend sent me a zipped folder, that contained files needed to install and run an application. To faciltate sending and security he removed the exe extensions. I would ask him, but he is away, so I am here to find out how I may solve the problem. Neither trying to edit properties, nor renaming...

Downloading videos from my camcorder I get 4 files for each clip - the video file and 3 other files with the same filename but different extensions that apparently are required by the video editor. Cannot rename files with url extension
The strange thing is, I was able to do it 1 time. I dragged a web address off and Windows created a shortcut. I was able to change the extension to .txt. The icon changed to that for a text file, and I could open the file and read it. Since then, though, the url extension does not show up. If I...
