    How to manage several user accounts windows 7


    Hi

    I need some advice regarding accounts please.
    We have 30 computers running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, is there a way to transfer a users account and settings like MS Outlook, browser to another computer over the LAN? Would like to be able to kind of hot desk but setting up a user on another PC takes time especially if it needs doing frequently.

    This is easy with a domain controller but no idea if can be done with standalone PCs.

    The term you are looking for is a roaming profile - I have no knowledge if possible on non-domain PCs.

    You could try to setup a dummy account, configure it as roaming (if possible with standalone PC) - you would need a file server to hold the profiles etc. Then try to connect to it but I am not very hopeful of this method.

    Thanks GokAy, I will look into it.
    We do have a NAS server that can hold all the profiles.
    If anyone else has any other ideas I would be grateful, thanks.
