the partition table does not have a valid system partition

I have found a few threads on this.

disconnected all my external drives.

I tried the cmd prompt...

diskpart
lis vol
sel vol *
act

The drive that should have the OS is solid state. IS that part of the problem?

When I type ( in my case )

sel vol 6 ( or letter I )

virtual disk service error:
the specified partition type is not valid for this operation

I also have another internal drive, no OS and not a partition of the same drive.
I tried the same process, and it gave me an error message. Something along the
lines about there not being a boot manager. Makes sense, there is no OS on it.

I'm at a loss, I really don't want to re-format at this point.

I feel like there should be another partition under ( lis vol )
I think it's called Acronis loader. Stupid me, never set a backup point or anything.
That partition doesnt show up.

I don't know what to say at this point. I'm going to buy some beer and wait for a response.

I forgot to say that I can't boot into windows. I'm in the cmd prompt via my install DVD.
Iv'e run the startup repair a bunch.

To sweeten the deal, Ill plug whoever helps me in my next video. It's friday night and I can't edit. What a bum ride.....

The plot thickens. I have a hot-swap drive in my case. Thought I would re-install Win7 on a blank HDD just to see what I could see.

Turns out I forgot about an internal HDD I installed when I got this beast. I would have opened it up to double check, but it's a rackmount case in my studio. I'm an audio engineer, cables like you wouldn't believe. Or maybe you would.

The vernacular is a bit hard to understand for me. SATA port assignment? Dafuk? And I'm tired of trying. I'll look into doing a power cycle tomorrow. Any thoughts guys? I'm out of ideas.

Don't think that's going to help. The SSD is missing from the system and also the disk manager.

It looks like the power cycle works for people. I'll try that.

Unplug all other drives, Mark 100mb System Reserved (if you have it) or Win7 partition Partition Active
then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

When it starts power down to plug back in the other drives making sure Win7 drive stays set to boot first in BIOS setup, then post back a screenshot of Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image.

If this fails, download the CD ISO image of Partition Wizard, burn to CD with Windows Image Burner, boot to take a picture of the full drive map showing all listings including scrolling. Attach picture using paper clip in reply box.

After 2 hours this morning disconnecting a myriad of gear to access my rack, here is a punch list, following your instructions. As best I can.

-ALL peripherals, internal and external drives disconnected, except my SSD where the Win7OS is installed.
-Since I can't see if the drive is active. I'm going to boot from the install DVD.
-The OS doesn't show up in the system recovery options.
-Running cmd prompt to make drive active.
-SSD not showing up in the list.

From here, I don't know where to go.
Do I move on to the partition wizard?
Do I hit myself in the temple with a hammer?

Sorry, I'm still working coffee through my system. I'll follow the rest of your tips.
