There are several articles on how to download a Windows 8 x64 ISO file from Microsoft, but they assume one has purchased Windows 8 from the Windows Store. I have my license key from my original Windows 8 that came preinstalled on an old laptop that I no longer have. I now have a need to install windows 8 on my current laptop, but need to download the ISO. How/where can I do this?

Windows 8 issues would be best posted at our sister site www.eightforums.com instead.
While you can use OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to download a Windows 8.1 ISO file, you will not be able to activate it. OEM keys can only be used to active on the original computer since the key is permanently tied to the motherboard.
If you had a retail key, then you would be able to activate on any computer as long as it's not activated on any other at the same time.
