    win 7 ultimate retail to win 10 free download


    Will I be able to use my win 7 retail disk on another computer after MS installs the win 10 free upgrade ?

    The disk just contains the files needed to install, the product key is the important part. And as you're upgrading that product then theoretically no you won't be able to.

    So your saying my win 7 disk I bought from microsoft will be useless If I upgrade to win 10 ? I have the product key. I've done several clean installs over the last 2 years.

    You will be upgrading that license to Windows 10. You can downgrade back to 7 if you want but you can't use them both at the the same time.

    I dont want to install them both on the same computer. I want to install 7 retail on another computer and have 10 on this one.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
    Then you'll need to buy win-10
    Preorders for 10 is 140.us for either 64 or 32 bit at I believe amazon possibly Newegg ?
    That is a oem only for 1 machine and tied to the mobo.

    Another option is to use 10 using the insiders program then it's still free but you'd have to use a M$ account beit outlook.com or Hotmail for login,
