Yep good article and Jack made some nice questions :)
The terms of use and privacy terms need a careful read which I haven't had the time to cull through them all
But a quote was posted that seems to be from Onedrive terms but may apply to the entire os
Which is disturbing if it does

I would expect Onedrive content to be culled through for violations.... but content in the os I would hope it was completely separate and completely private this needs to be confirmed

Just the system requirements of a M$ account from a Newegg sells listing kind of insinuates local accounts are gone even if you pay 140.us for it :/
That's another issue that needs to be verified because I do not and will not use a M$ account for an os.
My terms which are granted in win-7
    Everyone likes new stuff.

sorry for a naive ? , reading thru these posts i believe i would probably wait till 2020 also for W 10.... but i am wondering about updates (automatic) for W7. Should most people just let them all install ? or read / search what each is for ? I think after some recent update i am having Bing terrorizing me again with pop ups i have never seen before.

I recommend setting Updates to Automatic.

The fear of Windows 10 does not warrant hiding those Updates unless you are paranoid. There are no performance problems traced to these.

As to Bing it is one I suggest avoiding. You can find it in Installed Updates and Control Panel/Programs to Uninstall. Then right click to Hide when it queues again under Optional.

In Browser Add-Ons under Search set Google for best search default, remove others and tick box to avoid any returning.

Only hidden ones here are Silverlight, Skype, and language packs.

Yea you can also review here for feedback on the updates as well as reviewing them first Before downloading and installing them,
We or at least I'm always on watch for weird updates that serve no purpose to my usage
    Remote desktop.....
Most are recommended or optional if setting are set correctly.

Auto updating is for grandma and grandpa

I have a new Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series that came with Win 8.1 installed , and now upgraded to Win 10. I also have newly purchased OEM version of Win 7 home that I wish to dual boot with Win 10. Is there anything special I need to do to make that happen? I want to keep using Win 7 for the for the time being, but also I want to practice with Win 10.

My 2-1/2 y/o Shuttle desktop and my Thinkpad T450s from work will stay on Windows 7 for forever.

I installed 10 over 8.1 on my Yoga 2 Pro.

We've got four other computers in the house - one is 7, the others are 8.x. Keeping 7 and upgrading one of the others to 10. The other two, a Pentium 4 and a Celeron, may or may not meet system reqs, but I won't bother.

I had Windows 10 on my machines and am in the process of going back to Windows 7. Windows 10 is okay, but I have an NVidia card and things just get a little wonky with it.

Like others, I will probably install this near the end of the 12 month offer. It will take the hardware vendors that long to stabilize their drivers, never mind the Microsoft patches. It will also probably take that long before I see any upgrades to any of the applications I use that will make moving to Windows 10 worth it.

I will say, unlike Windows 8.x I have no ill feelings towards this OS, and was even involved in the Insider program. It is more about getting day to day work done on my machine and keeping it stable. Being on the leading edge of anything is going to lead to unwanted problems you can avoid with just a little patience.

Not for this grandpa. Grandma doesn't have to worry, she tells me "that's why I keep you around."

Grandma sounds like a friend of mine. Her husband is an IT tech and she depends on hime to keep her computer (now a tablet) and smart phone working properly.
