    Desktop hangs after start-up

HP 2000-2a20CA Notebook Windows 7 64bit Home Prenium fully updated.

i know this topic has been around a few times, but none of the previous suggestions read make any effect.

Once Desktop and its icons has appeared and then approx 1min from start-up, it Freezes/Hangs yet cursor is ok. It stays in this condition for a approx 5mins and from there on all is ok whatever program/function is used.

    Have tried
    1) How to Troubleshoot a Problem by Performing a Clean Startup in Windows 7 or Vista, no effect..
    2) Event viewer shows timeouts in Net. framework NGEN, X86 or X64 but cannot fine ServicesPipeTimeout in Registry to adjust.
    3) chkdsk, no probs found
    4) sfc /scannow will only run to 39% then cannot go further.
    6) ADWclearner, no probs

    Any further clues/tips please

Waiting for Win 10 download, soon I hope.

    thanks

Run AV, Run Win.Updates, Run Disk Cleanup, Defrag.

I would run an AV check. I would check what processes are running, I would do a Disk Cleanup, and a Disk Defragmenter (I actually perform Cleanup and Defrag every 2nd month after I do Windows Update).

    Thanks,

Done all that, also tried clean boot, turned off all but MS services and much more. Also Autoruns and removed all Yellow highlighted deadends. Disk defrag is set at auto for every week.

Tried sfc /scannow, but that stops at 39% in either windows or safe mode. Tried SFCFix.exe, no problems found and still sfc stops at 39%.

Just tried SFCFix.exe with SFCFix.zip and it made some alterations.
Retried sfc /scannow, still stopping at 39%.

    thanks
