Boots from windows setup disk but not from hard drive

windows runs normally when I set bios to DVD drive and run the windows setup disk. When I try to run from the hard disk c from thru the bios the computer hangs up and does not continue. I feel that I may have a corrupted system file. If so is it possible to run sys c from the setup disk?

Do the same switch after finishing with the DVD drive

After swiching to the DVD drive, and done your job, On reboot, go back and switch back to the HD boot, the way it was to begin with. Then restart the PC again.

Please post back a screenshot of Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image.

Have you run Startup Repair? Try that a few times from the disk to see what it reports.

Keep the hard drive set first to boot, trigger DVD drive from the BIOS Boot Menu key.
