My Admin user name is corrupted so now PC has NO admin privileges

I created an administrator account for MSConway and changed my original account (pmconway) to user. Now when I log in to MSConway I get "The user name or password is corrupted." At the cmd line I entered "net users" and saw that my Admin account is mistakenly named "Ms. Conway". Also, when I use "net user" for MSConway that name is not recognized, nor is any variation on Ms. Conway (like "Ms. Conway" "Conway" "Ms" "Ms.) What can I do? I really want to upgrade to Windows 10 but I'm stuck with no Admin account.

Also, my Windows 7 DVD came with my refurbished HP and says "Intended for distribution with a refurbished PC." When I boot from that DVD I don't get an option to reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows, so I'm wondering if I can even do a clean install with this type of Windows 7 DVD. Can I?

    I'd really appreciate any suggestions!

    Thanks a lot,
    Trish

See Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable about enabling the built-in admin account. Once you get it set up I would take a system image with third party software (aomei, eg) so you have a fallback.
